Ganda-Bandhan by Great Maestro Aftab-e-Sitar Ustad Vilayat Khan…

Ganda-Bandhan : Thread Ceremony to signify formal acceptance as disciple

On 5th of October, 2001, after years of tutelage, Aftab-e-Sitar Ustad Vilayat Khan tied the sacred thread on the wrist of Jayanta and formally accepted him as his disciple. Immediately after Jayanta's performance, which the Ustadji praised as one of the exceptional ones, he played himself for the audience. Just before playing he said to the audience, "this gives you all a glimpse of the few of my best disciples..
